The process of rooting used to be a complex series of steps which had to be executed in a certain order. Lately, however, an application called SuperOneClick has come out which has the ability to root almost any Android device with a simple click. Simply download the software, install it on your Windows PC, and click Root. This will give you full access to the operating system and allow you to install additional software, change more system settings, and even over clock your CPU to get even faster speeds. However, be wary if you are not familiar with Linux, as the additional permissions you have as root can cause problems if you accidentally overwrite certain files.
Rooting your Android device can give you full control over how your Android device works. You can even install some traditional Linux packages to turn your tablet into a home theater control, a web server, or almost anything. Be sure you know what you are doing and follow all directions so you don’t cause additional problems. However, with a little bit of research and caution, rooting your Android tablet can give you much more control, flexibility, and a way cooler operating system than your buddies.
