How Tim Ferris (4 Hour Work Week) Outsources his life

How Tim Ferris (4 Hour Work Week) Outsources his life

The concept is simple. It is one we all use every day. We pay people to change our oil, cook our meals, and clean our homes because our time is better spent on other things. Outsourcing is as old as man. What Tim Ferris has done with his 4 Hour Work Week is extend that concept to running a small business.

What makes the paradigm revolutionary is that until the 4 Hour Work Week hit the world’s consciousness, the vast majority of people considered outsourcing to be simply a way of exchanging money for boring tasks. Exchanging money for boring tasks that make more money creates an entirely new ball game.

A business person using the 4 Hour Work Week method gets all the advantages of having a crew of quality employees at his or her beck and call without the paperwork and hassle of actually hiring full time staff. Every business has two components: The brain that guides the venture and the hands that carry out the day-to-day work of making ends meet.

The difficulty for a single person trying to make a mark on the world is that we are each limited to two hands per brain. By using outsourcing, we can hire additional hands to do repetitive but necessary tasks, freeing our brain to focus entirely on the more satisfying (and profitable!) work of guiding the business.

Having your cake and eating it too – outsourcing your life allows you to do exactly that.

Cut Both Your Home Line and Cell Phone Line?

Cut Both Your Home Line and Cell Phone Line?

When cell phones became wildly popular, many people started to limit the amount of service on their home phone plan or eliminate it altogether. The culture has changed and people will generally always have a cell phone with them, so there truly s no need for the home phone. The next step is to cut the cord completely. (Not that anyone has a phone with a cord anymore, but you get the idea.)

Technologies have advanced greatly in the last few years, and all of the communication that is needed can be found on the internet. When we need to find something, we search online. When we need to get in touch with a friend or business associate, we send an email or a text message. And in the event that we actually need to talk to someone, there are VOIP programs, video chat and free phone services that do no need a phone in the traditional sense of the word.

When it comes to maintaining a busy lifestyle and not getting bogged down in the details, cutting the phone cords is one easy way of simplifying. Once the cord is cut, you won’t look back.

What’s Better?: Courtside seats or Suite Box

What’s Better?: Courtside seats or Suite Box

Nothing beats seeing your favorite NBA team in person. It is not hard to get caught up in the excitement when the crowd roars after LeBron James throws down a one-hand jam or Kobe Bryant drains a back-breaking jumper with a second or two left on the shot clock.

It is even better if you are have a front row seat on the action. Everyone thinks being super rich means enjoying the suite life. The fact is that true basketball fans will want to be as close as they can get to the court, no matter how many millions their personal net worth reaches.

The biggest advantage of sitting in courtside seats is getting a better view and feel of the game than just about anyone else. You can hear the trash talk between players. You can eavesdrop on what the coaches say in the huddle or chuckle at what they yell at the referees. You can verbally joust with opposing players and coaches. In many ways, when you sit courtside, it is almost like you are a part of the game.

Being up in the suite has its advantages for sure. Fine wine and good food are there to sample. You can kick back and relax in an easy chair and watch the game in style. Of course, the arena’s crazy atmosphere just does not translate well through the suite box.

Perhaps the best solution is to incorporate the best of both worlds. Buy a suite box and tickets for courtside seats. Then you can sit courtside during the game and enjoy the suite during the pregame and halftime. It is a happy compromise.

How to get a fake US passport if trapped outside of the US

How to get a fake US passport if trapped outside of the US

You don’t realize the importance of a passport until you find yourself without one. It is your ID, freedom pass and go-to-the-front-of-the-line card.

Here is how you get a fake US passport if trapped outside of the US:

A) Be willing to meet with unsavory characters:

Fake passports are not sold in stores or airport kiosks. You need to be willing to meet with unsavory characters. You won’t find these people in travel agencies. You need to hit the bars, clubs and back alleys.

In some countries, these characters are easy to find. A conversation with a taxi driver is all you need to set up a meeting.

Ask around. But be subtle and relaxed. These characters are used to dealing with other unsavory characters. If they think you are setting them up, they will immediately sever the deal.

B) Be willing to spend money:

If you want a passport that looks legitimate, you’re going to have to pay for it. This is a business. The people doing the negotiations will be setting the prices; they can afford to. There are always travelers that lose their passports or can’t get one officially.

The market is always booming.

C) Be willing to take a risk:

You are outside of your native country without a passport. Your bank account can’t support you forever. You need to get back home. It’s going to take some risks.

You have dealt with unsavory characters. You are willing to spend money. Now comes the real gamble. It’s time to act and do what needs to be done.

Getting the passport will be risky. But not getting home is even riskier.

Finally home

Nothing is more comforting than returning home. It is a feeling of relief, recognition and safety. How you get there is up to you.

Google Search Hacks Part Four

Google Search Hacks Part Four

If you have been using the Internet for any length of time, you probably already have a fairly decent understanding of how to search for many things. However, there are times when searching for certain search terms on Google requires a few tricks to get the right kind of results. These days, there are all kinds of cool things that one can do with Google. Entering the exact search terms for something gets you the most accurate results, but these Google search hacks offer shortcuts to finding other information through Google.

First, find information on certain flights by entering the airline and the flight number. Google provides tracking and status information for all major airlines. For example, by entering “Jet Blue flight 679,” I can see the flight status at the top of search results without having to go to a specific site or weed through flight statuses on the Jet Blue website.

Another handy trick for travelers is searching for local time after arriving in a different time zone. This is also a neat tool for people who collaborate with those in other parts of the world. To get the local time, simply enter “what time is it” in the Google search box. To find the local time somewhere else, enter “what time is it in ____” with the name of the city. For example, “what time is it in Bangkok” displays the current time in the city of Bangkok at the top of search engine results.

Google offers a number of built-in calculators for all types of uses. These calculators can convert currency and units of measurement within a matter of seconds. For example, to convert ten U.S. Dollars to Euros, simply enter “10 USD in Euro” for the result. The answer is displayed at the top of search engine results, again without having to visit an actual website.

Business or Pleasure

Business or Pleasure

So you’re headed to the other side of the pond? Whether it is for business or pleasure, there’s no escaping that 12 hours of sitting. Let’s put a price on comfort, ladies and gentlemen.

It’s time to weigh our two options: business or first class.

Business Class boasts an assorted palette of amenities. While seated in Business Class, which for this long haul is referred to as “Club Europe,” you will find spacious seating, room to work between the office in the “States” and your destination and a wide array of food and wines.

First Class boasts even more amenities, but let’s not assume that First Class should be first choice! While seated in First Class you will find that comfort is king. Room to sleep in the most comfortable of fashions, accompanied by an assortment of well-being products to make sure that you look as refreshed as you will not be able to help but feel. On top of the ability to expedite your trip by sleeping through it comfortably, you will be able to pick from the finest foods and even the format in which they are served to you.

Of course, both classes offer more amenities, but a simple look at just these key ones will open up our eyes to which is more valuable to our trip. So what will it be, business or pleasure? Does the ability to work while you fly insure that you will be studied up and ready for your big sale as soon as you land, or does the comfort of first class allow you to rest assured that when you land, you will be at the top of your sight-seeing game?

Whatever it comes down to, one simple fact will make your decision more comfortable: it’s not Coach!

What’s Better?: 4 Wheels or 2 Wheels on the Weekend

What’s Better?: 4 Wheels or 2 Wheels on the Weekend

There’s a time and place for everything. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do. There are times and certain days of the week that just call for different things. Coffee is best in the morning, beer is made for the night life, and 2 wheels are perfect for the weekend. These aren’t laws that are written on stone tablets. They are not commandments that people must live by. These are just natural things that appear to be unspoken rules in society.

All people will pretty much agree that Monday is a dreadful beginning to another week. Surprisingly, rich people that can choose their own schedules will still say that Monday is a bore. It is something that is embedded within the psychological profiles of humans. There is a slight increase in motivation as Tuesday rolls around, but it doesn’t compare at all to Wednesday. This day is commonly referred to as hump day because the week has almost come to a close. Thursday is an easy day because Friday is right around the corner. When Friday comes everyone is already considering how the weekend will be spent.

The motorcycles, dirk bikes, and scooters are all 2 wheel vehicles that are much more fun for the weekend. There are lots of places that a person can access on a 2 wheel bike that just cannot be reached with a 4 wheel vehicle like a jeep.

Driving around on 4 wheels is ideal for a Monday morning. The city isn’t buzzing with excitement. Most people are back to their regular grind. There are no real exciting motorbike races happening on a Tuesday or Wednesday morning. All of the people that really love the excitement that comes with the weekend will be working hard in their cubicles. They may be goofing off at work with daydreams of the weekend to come. They will not, however, be spending a large amount of time on 2 wheels during the weekday.

When the weekend arrives people will see the things much differently and desire some 2 wheel action. There are bicycle races, motorbike events, dirt bike competitions, and even 2 wheel skateboards contests. There are also certain sections of beaches, resorts, or parks that are also made for scooters. Individuals that are not interested in any of this may simply choose 2 wheels because it they are just more fun for weekend rides.
